Resurrection Plant Unfurls
The Resurrection Plant (Selaginella lepidophylla) is more science experiment than actual gardening. It’s a desert plant that evolved to be able to withstand long periods without water, during which it curls up into a ball. At the first sign of water, it unfurls and turns from brown to green in a couple hours. It’s amazing. Wanna see?
Update: Since several people asked, I got this plant at Paxton Gate here in San Francisco, but you can find them online, too. I’ve had good experiences buying from Logee’s.
