Stunning Crinum moorei Bloom

Back in May, I got a Crinum moorei from the SF Botanical Garden sale and planted it in the back yard. For the last few weeks, it’s been working on a bloom, and this week the first flower opened. Wow.

beautiful! how long does each bloom last? I can see there’s a succession of buds, do any open simultaneously or is it only one at a time?
Ellie: Unknown! It’s the first time it’s bloomed. There are now two flowers open with a few more buds lined up.
So, now that this one has been open for a few days, did the flowers end up lasting more than a day? I have a Crinum ‘Cintho-Alpha’ that is absolutely beautiful but the flowers only last for a day. Did this one have a bit more staying power?
Tom: It’s still blooming! The blooms last for a few days, definitely. (I’ve got a timelapse coming soon!)
